RackIT Judge
RackIT Judge Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-09-23
These terms govern RackIT Judge and Courtside Judge.
RackIT Sports LLC. Effective September 23, 2026 for new accounts; for accounts that existed on that date, from the date given in the notice email we send. Shown in the RackIT Judge apps and at judge.rackit.net/terms.
1. This agreement, and how you accept it
1.1 These terms are an agreement between you and RackIT Sports LLC ("RackIT", "we") for RackIT Judge: the RackIT Judge apps, judge.rackit.net, the RackIT court systems at venues, and Courtside Judge, the line-calling and replay service (together, the "Service"). The Privacy Policy is part of these terms. The page "Deleting your RackIT Judge account" (judge.rackit.net/delete-account) describes how deletion works and what we keep; it is not part of the contract, but we follow it.
1.2 You accept these terms on one screen in the app, by ticking three boxes, none ticked for you: that you agree to these terms, that you agree to the Privacy Policy, and that you are 18 or older. The button does nothing until all three are ticked. You accept when you create your account or, if your account already exists, the next time you open the app on or after the date a new version takes effect. You do not accept these terms merely by using the Service. We keep a record of your acceptance: the versions you accepted, a digital fingerprint (digest) of their text and of the boxes you ticked, the app platform and version you accepted on, and when. If you do not accept, you can still read the documents, sign out, cancel Unlimited and delete your account; nothing else in the Service is available until you do.
2. Your account
2.1 RackIT Judge is for adults. You must be 18 or older to have an account, and you must live in the United States. If we learn that an account holder is under 18, we close and delete the account and remove the video of the games it took part in.
2.2 One account per person. Do not create more than one account, or delete and re-create accounts to obtain more than one free trial.
2.3 You sign in with Google, Apple, a one-time code or link sent to your email address, or a passkey. Keep that email account and your devices secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account, and you must tell us at hello@judge.rackit.net if someone uses it without your permission.
2.4 Other players in your games see your first name and last initial. Staff of the venue where a game is played see the names of its players while running the venue's courts; they see your email address only if you are a member of their venue.
3. What RackIT Judge does, and line calls
3.1 RackIT courts have fixed cameras that record video of the court while a game is running. From the video, Courtside Judge calls the ball in or out, replays the ball's path on close calls on the court screen, and gives each game's players their rally video, statistics and shot analysis in the app.
3.2 Calls can be wrong. Like any measuring system, Courtside Judge can make a wrong call, miss a call or be late. Light and glare, a blocked camera view, very fast or very close plays, the condition of the ball, court or lines, camera alignment, and faults in the court's equipment, power or network can all affect it. RackIT does not promise that every call will be correct, or that a call or replay will be available for every shot. Ball speed, spin, bounces, positions, swing analysis and other statistics are estimates. RackIT publishes no accuracy figure for Courtside Judge.
3.3 Courtside Judge calls the ball in or out. It does not referee, keep score or decide the result of any point, game or match. How its calls are used is decided by the players, or by the venue or event organizer under its own rules; in play sanctioned by a governing body, that body's rules decide whether and how an electronic call may be used. If you think a call was wrong, tell us at hello@judge.rackit.net; we may look into it, but we cannot change the result of a match, and a disputed call is not a reason for a refund.
4. Venues and safety
4.1 Venues own and run their courts, decide who may play, and set and collect their own court fees. RackIT is not a party to your arrangement with a venue.
4.2 Each venue with a RackIT court agrees with RackIT to post notice at its courts, seen before play, that games are recorded on silent video and that people's movements and body positions are tracked, naming RackIT and giving the address of the Privacy Policy. RackIT's cameras are mounted in plain view and record the court and the area around it, including people on the bench, watching, or on a neighboring court.
4.3 Pickleball carries a risk of injury. The Service records and analyzes play; it does not make play safer, and you play at your own risk.
5. Recording, tracking, and your license to RackIT
5.1 Games are recorded. When a game runs on a RackIT court, the court's cameras record silent video of the court area, and the court tracks the ball and the movement and body position of people on or near the court. Anyone on or near the court can appear, including people not in the game. If you take part in a game as a player, you agree that the game is recorded and that its video and data are used as these terms and the Privacy Policy describe. People who are not players in a game are told that the court records by the venue's posted notice (4.2).
5.2 Who can see a game. A game's video, statistics and analysis can be seen by its players, by the venue's staff while running the venue's courts and while a player still has the game, by RackIT staff to run, support and secure the Service. Video is never public.
5.3 Your license to RackIT. For your games, you give RackIT a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual and irrevocable license to use the video and tracking data from those games to operate, support and secure the Service; to show games to the people entitled to see them; and to develop, train, test and improve RackIT's line calling, tracking, swing analysis and other products, including AI and machine-learning models. De-identified tracking data copied for training is kept indefinitely and is not removed when you leave a game or delete your account. Training copies also contain court video, kept apart from your account, never public and never used for face recognition; video copies are kept as long as RackIT needs them for that work and are not removed when you leave a game or delete your account. The Privacy Policy, section 6, describes each copy.
5.4 What RackIT will not do. RackIT does not sell or license recordings or your games' tracking data, and does not share them except with the people 5.2 names, with the service providers that run the Service for us, with our professional advisers, with a successor under section 15, and for legal requests and safety as the Privacy Policy (section 5) describes. De-identified training data is covered by the Privacy Policy, section 6. RackIT will not try to re-identify any person, game, venue or court from de-identified data; anyone we ever let work with de-identified data must agree in writing to the same. RackIT does not use face recognition; any future feature that recognizes you in your own games will be off unless you turn it on and will be agreed separately (Privacy Policy, section 4). RackIT will not use your name, or video or images in which you are identifiable, in marketing without your consent.
5.5 People under 18. Only account holders, who must be 18 or older, take part in games as players. Courts record everyone in view, so video can include people under 18, for example at a junior session a venue runs. If RackIT knows a person under 18 took part in a game, it does not use that game's video or data for training, research, marketing or distribution, and it removes the game's video on request from a parent or guardian.
5.6 If you appear in a game you were not a player in, email hello@judge.rackit.net with the venue, court, date and rough time, and we will remove that game's video for everyone in it. Nothing is refunded to the players, who keep the game's statistics. Clips anyone saved to a device are outside our reach. If the game is being kept for a dispute, review, security matter or legal claim, we may keep the video while that matter is open and remove it when it ends.
5.7 Saved clips. You may save the video of a rally from a game you played in to your own device, for your personal, non-commercial use. A saved clip shows other people. You are responsible for how you share it and for any permission you need from the people in it.
6. Courtside Judge purchases
6.1 What you buy, and from whom. Courtside Judge is a service delivered in person on a named court for a game played there. RackIT sells it and takes payment through Stripe, not through the Apple App Store or Google Play; Apple and Google are not party to the purchase and do not handle its billing, refunds or cancellation. A purchase covers you only. Games opened by a venue or by RackIT carry no in-app charge. Courtside Judge purchases are offered only at venues and on platforms where RackIT has switched them on; where they are not offered, or where the price is no charge, playing in open-play games needs no card and carries no charge.
6.2 Single sessions. If you choose to pay for a single session for your place in an open-play game, a hold is placed on your card for the price shown. Your card is charged once your game starts on the court, however short the game is. If the game never starts, the hold is released; your bank decides when the release appears.
6.3 Courtside Judge Unlimited. Unlimited is a monthly plan with no minimum term that covers you in open-play games at every RackIT court. Before you pay, the screen shows the monthly price, including any sales tax, and these terms: you are charged that price when you start and again on the same date every month until you cancel; there is no minimum term; how to cancel (6.4); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current monthly period; and the unused part of a month is not refunded. By tapping "Start Unlimited" you agree to those terms and to these Terms of Service, and you authorize RackIT, through Stripe, to charge the monthly price to your payment method then and at the start of each monthly period until you cancel. Stripe keeps your payment method for those renewals; you can change it in Account. We keep a record of that agreement. We email your account's address a confirmation you can keep and, once a year, a reminder of the plan, its price and how to cancel.
6.4 Canceling Unlimited. Cancel at any time in Account, then Courtside Judge, then Cancel Unlimited, in the app or at judge.rackit.net. Unlimited covers you until the end of the current monthly period and you are not charged again. If you cannot sign in, including while your account is suspended, email hello@judge.rackit.net from your account's address and we cancel it the same way; if your account is suspended, renewal stops at the end of the current period. If a renewal payment fails, Unlimited may stop covering you; update your card in Account. Deleting your account is different: Unlimited ends at once and the rest of the month is not refunded, so cancel first and delete after the month ends if you want to use it.
6.5 Price changes. Your Unlimited price is the price you started at and does not change while your plan continues unless we email your account's address at least 14 days and not more than 30 days before a new price first applies, with how to cancel. If you are charged a new price and cancel within 14 days of that charge, we refund the rest of that month.
6.6 Free trial. RackIT may offer a free trial of Unlimited. It is one per account, needs no card, and ends without charge; it never converts into a paid plan. Deleting and re-creating accounts to obtain more trials breaks 2.2.
6.7 Prices and tax. Prices are in US dollars, are the same in the apps and on the web, and include any sales tax.
6.8 Refunds. If the court fails after it has recorded your game, tell us within 30 days of the game and we will refund that game; that 30 days is about what we are still able to check, not a limit on any claim you may have. A charge made twice or by mistake is refunded whenever you find it. Otherwise charges are not refundable, including the unused part of an Unlimited month, except as 6.5 says or where the law requires it. To ask, email hello@judge.rackit.net with the date, venue and amount. Refunds go to the card you paid with.
6.9 Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe, Inc. processes payments for RackIT by card or, where your device supports it, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You enter payment details in Stripe's form; RackIT never receives or stores your card number. Stripe also uses payment and device information on its own account to prevent fraud and meet its legal duties, under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy).
7. Your games
7.1 A game stays in the Service while at least one of its players keeps it. Video has no fixed time limit today and never depends on a payment. If RackIT ever sets a shorter period, it will apply only after the notice that announces it.
7.2 After a game has finished you can remove yourself from it in the app. This ends what you can see of that game; it does not delete your information and cannot be undone. The other players keep the game.
7.3 When no player keeps a game any more, it disappears at once for everyone and is then deleted, with its video, once any training copy has been made. The Privacy Policy and the deletion page say what is kept, and for how long.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms, harasses or deceives anyone;
- share a court's code with people who are not at the court, guess codes, or open lobbies at a court you are not at;
- join a game for someone else, let someone else play under your account, or use another person's account or plan;
- interfere with court cameras, screens, equipment or networks, access data you are not entitled to, probe or get around security, or scrape, automate or overload the Service;
- use recordings or data to track, identify or harass anyone, or try to re-identify people from de-identified data;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the Service or the court system, or use either to build a competing product; or
- if you are venue staff, use staff tools or player information for anything other than running the venue's courts.
9. Suspension, closure and ending the Service
9.1 RackIT may suspend your account if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms or misused a payment, for security reasons, or where the law requires it. A suspended account cannot sign in; its games and data stay, and its Unlimited stops renewing at the end of the current period.
9.2 RackIT may delete an account for abuse, for legal reasons, or because it is a duplicate or test account, with the effects described on the deletion page. You can delete your account at any time.
9.3 RackIT may add, change or remove features, pause the Service for maintenance or for reasons outside its control, and stop providing the Service, Unlimited, or any part of the Service. If it stops the Service or Unlimited, it will tell you in advance and stop renewals so you are not charged again.
9.4 After your account ends, these still apply: section 5 (including the license and RackIT's commitments), charges for games recorded before your account ended, and sections 10 to 15.
10. Ownership
RackIT owns the court system, its software and models, the Service, and the way reports, statistics and line calls are compiled and presented. To the extent any copyright or similar right exists in recordings produced by the court system, it belongs to RackIT. Tracking data are measured facts. Nothing in these terms gives you any right in the Service except the license in section 11 and the right to save clips in 5.7.
11. The app, and app stores
11.1 These terms are the license agreement for the app in the Apple App Store and Google Play. RackIT gives you a license to use the app that you cannot transfer, on devices you own or control, within the rules of the store you downloaded it from. That store's terms also apply, as do any other third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your carrier's.
11.2 These terms are between you and RackIT only, not Apple or Google. RackIT, not Apple or Google, is responsible for the app, its content, its maintenance and support, and for Courtside Judge purchases. Apple and Google have no duty to provide any maintenance or support.
11.3 RackIT alone is responsible for any warranty about the app, express or implied, except where section 12 disclaims it. If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund you the price you paid Apple for the app, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claim, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense arising from that failure is RackIT's responsibility.
11.4 RackIT, not Apple or Google, is responsible for handling any claim by you or anyone else about the app or your possession and use of it, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer-protection, privacy or similar laws, and for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that the app infringes someone's intellectual property rights.
11.5 You confirm that you are not in a country under a United States Government embargo or designated by the United States Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
11.6 Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, when you accept them, have the right to enforce them against you. Questions, complaints and claims about the app go to RackIT at the address in section 15.
12. Disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity
12.1 DISCLAIMERS. EXCEPT FOR WHAT THESE TERMS EXPRESSLY PROMISE, RACKIT PROVIDES THE SERVICE "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, RACKIT DISCLAIMS EVERY WARRANTY NOT STATED IN THESE TERMS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR OF NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED IN A WORKMANLIKE OR PROFESSIONAL MANNER. RACKIT DOES NOT PROMISE THAT A COURT WILL BE AVAILABLE, THAT EVERY RALLY WILL BE RECORDED OR EVERY CALL CORRECT (SECTION 3), OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED. THIS SECTION DOES NOT LIMIT YOUR REFUND RIGHTS IN 6.8 OR ANY RIGHT THE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO WAIVE.
12.2 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS: (A) RACKIT AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES AND SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE, INCLUDING THE RESULT OF ANY POINT, GAME, MATCH OR EVENT; AND (B) RACKIT'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE, WHATEVER THE LEGAL THEORY, IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID RACKIT FOR COURTSIDE JUDGE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, FOR FRAUD OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, OR FOR ANYTHING ELSE THE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW TO BE LIMITED, WHICH IN SOME STATES INCLUDES ANY VIOLATION OF LAW; AND THEY DO NOT REDUCE STATUTORY DAMAGES, INCLUDING DOUBLE OR TREBLE DAMAGES OR ATTORNEY'S FEES, THAT A LAW AWARDS AND DOES NOT ALLOW TO BE LIMITED BY AGREEMENT. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW SOME OF THESE LIMITS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
12.3 INDEMNITY. IF SOMEONE ELSE BRINGS A CLAIM AGAINST RACKIT BECAUSE YOU BROKE THESE TERMS, MISUSED THE SERVICE, OR SHARED A SAVED CLIP (5.7) WITHOUT THE RIGHTS OR PERMISSIONS YOU NEEDED, YOU AGREE TO DEFEND RACKIT AGAINST THAT CLAIM AND TO PAY THE DAMAGES, COSTS AND REASONABLE LEGAL FEES THAT RESULT, TO THE EXTENT THE CLAIM WAS CAUSED BY WHAT YOU DID AND NOT BY RACKIT'S OWN BREACH OR NEGLIGENCE.
13. Disputes and governing law
13.1 Talk to us first. If you have a dispute with RackIT, email hello@judge.rackit.net from your account's address and tell us what happened. We will try to resolve it with you informally within 30 days. Either of us may go to court once those 30 days have passed, or sooner to stop harm that cannot wait.
13.2 Governing law. These terms, and any dispute about the Service, are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This does not take away any right you have under the consumer-protection or privacy laws of the state where you live that those laws do not allow you to give up by agreement.
13.3 Where disputes are heard. A dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts in Aiken County, South Carolina, and you and RackIT consent to their jurisdiction and venue. Two exceptions: you may bring a claim that qualifies in the small-claims court where you live or where you played; and this section applies only as far as the law of your state allows a contract to choose the courts of another state.
13.4 These terms do not shorten the time the law gives you to bring a claim.
14. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change to these terms or the Privacy Policy, we update the date at the top and email your account's address at least 30 days before the change takes effect (for a change to the terms of Unlimited, at least 14 and not more than 30 days before, as in 6.5); the app then asks you to accept the new version, with a note of what changed. Until then, the version you accepted applies to you. Changes that only help you, such as a lower price or keeping video longer, may take effect when published.
15. General, contact and notices
With the Privacy Policy, these terms are the whole agreement about the Service. If part cannot be enforced, the rest still applies, and not enforcing a term at once does not waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. RackIT may transfer these terms, and its rights and obligations under them, to a successor in a sale, merger or reorganization of its business; the successor takes RackIT's obligations as well as its rights, including the commitments in 5.4, and must agree to them in writing before it receives any data. We send notices to your account's email address. Contact and notices: RackIT Sports LLC, 1137 Richardsons Lake Rd, Aiken, SC 29803, United States, or hello@judge.rackit.net.
