RackIT Judge
RackIT Judge Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-10-02
This policy says what RackIT Judge collects, how it is used, who sees it, and how long it is kept.
RackIT Sports LLC. Effective October 2, 2026 for new accounts; for accounts that existed on that date, from the date given in the notice email we send. Shown in the RackIT Judge apps and at judge.rackit.net/privacy.
1. Who we are, and what this covers
RackIT Sports LLC ("RackIT", "we"), of Aiken, South Carolina, runs RackIT Judge: the apps, judge.rackit.net, the RackIT court systems at venues, and Courtside Judge, our line-calling and replay service. This policy covers the information we collect through them and through our emails. It does not cover a venue's own practices, or what Stripe, Google or Apple do under their own policies when you use them to sign in or pay.
2. What we collect
Account and sign-in. Your name, email address and, if your sign-in provider supplies one, profile photo; your sign-in method and sign-in credentials; and, for each sign-in session, the IP address and a description of the device or browser it started from.
Games. Which games you took part in, at which court and venue, when, and who else did; how your place in each game was paid for (a single-session payment, Unlimited, a trial, an access RackIT gave you, or a venue-opened game); and, if you are venue staff, what you did with staff tools. A game record shows you were at a particular court at a particular time because you entered the code shown on that court's screen. The app does not collect GPS or device location.
Court video. While a game runs on a RackIT court, five fixed cameras record silent video of the court area, kept as one clip per rally per camera. No sound is recorded. Video is also copied, apart from your account, to develop and train RackIT's models (section 6). The app does not record with your phone's camera or microphone; the camera permission is used only if you choose to scan a card in Stripe's payment form.
Tracking and game data. From the video the court measures the game: the ball's path, bounces, speed, spin and line calls, and the type of each shot. It also measures the movement and body position of people on or near the court, whether or not they are in the game. The court works from the video and does not know who anyone is. The people it tracks in a game include its players, and RackIT may tie a tracked person to the player in the game, so that each player's own statistics and video can be shown to them. Tracking data is kept with the game (section 8) and, in de-identified form, used as section 6 describes.
Payments. Stripe processes payments. We keep the amount, date, venue, court, what was bought, the tax treatment and Stripe's reference for each charge, and your Unlimited status. Your card number never reaches us. Stripe acts for us to take the payment and on its own account to prevent fraud and meet its legal duties, under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy).
Device, usage and cookies. The requests your app or browser makes to our servers, including IP address, app platform and version, and error details. On the web, one cookie keeps you signed in, and page views on judge.rackit.net are counted without cookies. We use no advertising cookies or identifiers, do not track you across other companies' websites or apps, and do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing for a browser's "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off; we do not respond to those signals. Stripe's payment software runs on payment screens and may collect device and interaction information for fraud prevention across the sites it serves, under Stripe's policy.
Your choices and messages. Your acceptance of the Terms and this policy (the versions, a digital fingerprint (digest) of their text and of the boxes you ticked, the app platform and version you accepted on, and when); if you start Unlimited, the renewal terms and price shown to you and when you agreed; your email preference and the version of the consent wording you agreed to; and emails you exchange with us.
Information from Google and Apple sign-in. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile photo (if your Google account has one) and Google's identifier for your account. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email address you choose to share, which may be an Apple relay address, and Apple's identifier for your account. We do not ask Google or Apple for your contacts, calendar, files or any other data. We use this information to create your account and sign you in, to send the emails section 11 describes, and to show your name in your games as section 5 describes. We do not sell it or use it for advertising, and we share it only as section 5 describes. It travels over encrypted connections and is stored in a database our provider encrypts at rest. We keep it until you delete your account (section 8), and you can also remove RackIT Judge from your Google or Apple account settings. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to: run Courtside Judge, calling lines, replaying close calls on the court screen and showing each game's video, statistics and analysis to its players and the venue's staff; run games and venues, including court codes, lobbies and usage counts for venues; take payments through Stripe and handle refunds, disputes, accounting and tax; communicate with you, including sign-in codes, invitations, notices about your account and these documents, support replies and, if you turn them on, Courtside Judge emails; keep the Service safe and working, enforce the Terms and comply with the law; and develop RackIT's products. For that last purpose we use de-identified tracking data, copied as section 6 describes, and court video, to develop, train, test and improve our line calling, tracking, swing analysis and other products, including AI and machine-learning models. We do not sell personal information, do not show advertisements, and do not use your information for anyone else's advertising; the only marketing we send is described in section 11.
4. Face recognition
RackIT Judge does not use face recognition and does not create face templates. If we ever offer a feature that recognizes you in your own games, it will be off unless you turn it on, and we will ask you separately before making any face template.
5. Who sees or receives information
Other players in a game see your first name and last initial, the game's video, and its statistics and analysis.
Venue staff see the games played on their courts, including video, while a player still has them, with the names of the players; they see the names and email addresses of the venue's members; and they receive usage counts for their courts with no names, with small counts left out.
RackIT staff can see games and accounts; they use that access to run, support and secure the Service.
Service providers process information for us to provide their service to us: Vercel (hosting and page-view counts), Neon (database), Cloudflare (storage for video and game data, and for the training data), the host of the server that connects courts to the Service, Resend (email) and, for the payment itself, Stripe, which also acts on its own account as section 2 describes. Google and Apple process information when you choose them for sign-in or payment, under their own terms.
Our professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants, auditors and insurers, who must keep it confidential.
The law. We disclose information when the law requires it, in response to a court order, warrant or subpoena valid where we operate, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to prevent death or serious injury, or to protect the rights, property or safety of RackIT, our users or the public.
A buyer of the business. If RackIT is sold or merges, information passes to the successor as part of the business, subject to this policy and to the commitments in sections 4 and 6, which the successor must agree to in writing before it receives any data.
We do not sell personal information of any kind, and we never sell, license or share a game's video or tracking data beyond what this section says. De-identified training data is covered by section 6.
6. Training data
To develop and train its models, RackIT copies de-identified tracking data from games to a separate training repository. The copy holds what the court measured of the ball and of how people moved, including anyone near the court who was not a player. It holds no video and nothing that identifies a person, a game, a venue or a court: no names, no account numbers, no game numbers, no venue or court, and no dates or clock times.
A game is not copied if, before its copy ran, its video was removed under section 7 or section 10.
Copied data is kept indefinitely. It may be copied before or after you leave a game or delete your account, including once no player is left, and leaving or deleting does not find or remove it, because RackIT keeps no link between the copy and you or your game and will not make one. RackIT keeps and uses de-identified data only in de-identified form, will not try to re-identify any person, game, venue or court from it, and requires in writing that anyone we ever give access to, including a buyer of the business, keeps it de-identified and does not try to re-identify it.
RackIT also copies court video to the training repository, and uses it to develop, train, test and improve the same products. A video copy is kept apart from accounts, is never public, and is seen only by RackIT and the service providers that process it for us, who are held to the commitments in this section. It teaches models about the game — the ball, the court, and how people move and swing — and is never used for face recognition (section 4). Video copies are kept as long as RackIT needs them for this work and are then deleted. Leaving a game or deleting your account does not remove a video copy.
7. People at a court without an account
Each venue with a RackIT court agrees with RackIT to post notice at its courts, seen before play, that games are recorded on silent video and that people's movements and body positions are tracked, naming RackIT and giving this policy's address. The cameras are in plain view and record and track people on or near the court, and can see people watching from beside it. If you do not want to be recorded, stay away from a RackIT court and its surroundings while a game is running.
If you were recorded in a game you were not a player in, you, or a parent or guardian for a child, can ask us to remove that game's video: email hello@judge.rackit.net with the venue, court, date and rough time. We use those details only for your request. If we cannot identify the game from the details you give us, we will ask you for more; we may decline a request we cannot match or that is not made in good faith. We remove the whole game's video for everyone, because we cannot cut one person out; the game's statistics stay with its players, and clips they saved to their own devices are outside our reach. If the game is being kept for a dispute, review, security matter or legal claim, we may keep the video while that matter is open and remove it when it ends.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information as long as we need it for the purposes in section 3, then delete it. In particular:
We may keep a game's video and data longer while a dispute, review, security matter or legal claim is open, or while the game is waiting to be copied for training (section 6). The page "Deleting your RackIT Judge account" (judge.rackit.net/delete-account) lists what deleting your account removes and what it keeps.
- Your name, email address and sign-in are removed when you delete your account.
- Games, video and statistics are kept while at least one of its players keeps the game. Video has no fixed time limit today; a limit would apply only after notice. When no player keeps a game, it disappears at once for everyone and is then deleted, with its video, once any training copy (section 6) has been made.
- Tracking data is kept while the game is kept and deleted with it, or longer while the game is waiting to be copied for training (section 6) or is kept for a matter listed below. The court computer keeps its own copy of a game's tracking data until we clear it.
- Records of how your place in each game was paid for are kept for a limited time after the game, then removed by our clean-up, or with the game if that comes first.
- Payment and tax records are kept for at least seven years, under an account number, never naming a game.
- Your acceptance record is kept for at least seven years from the date you accepted, including after your account is deleted, as the record of the agreement your account was used under.
- Your Unlimited agreement record (the renewal terms and price you agreed to, and when) is kept for at least three years after Unlimited ends.
- De-identified training data and venue usage counts are kept indefinitely (section 6).
- Backups, logs, records of staff actions on accounts and games, and support emails are kept for their own limited periods and then age out.
9. Your choices, and your rights
Delete your account in the app (Account, then Delete account) or by email; the deletion page explains what happens. Remove yourself from a finished game in the app; this changes what you can see and is not a deletion of your information. Turn Courtside Judge emails on or off in Account. Cancel Unlimited in Account. Remove RackIT Judge from your Google or Apple account settings.
To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, email hello@judge.rackit.net from your account's address; we may ask you to confirm the account is yours, and we answer as soon as we reasonably can. If the privacy law of your state gives you rights over your information, we honor them as that law requires.
10. Children and people under 18
RackIT Judge is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from anyone under 13. Accounts are for adults: you must be 18 or older, and only account holders take part in games as players. If we learn an account holder is under 18, we close and delete the account and remove the video of the games it took part in.
Courts record everyone in view, so video and tracking data can include people under 18, for example at a junior session a venue runs. If we know a person under 18 took part in a game, we do not use that game's video or data for training, research, marketing or distribution, and we remove its video on request from a parent or guardian (section 7). A game whose video was removed before its training copy ran is not copied.
11. Courtside Judge emails
Emails about Courtside Judge are off unless you turn on "Emails about Courtside Judge" in Account. If you do, we may email you news and offers for court sessions at venues where you have played. Every such email has an unsubscribe link and gives our postal address, and you can turn them off in Account at any time. Sign-in codes, invitations, receipts, notices about your account and these documents, and support replies are sent whether or not you turn marketing emails on.
12. Security, and incidents
We use reasonable security measures to protect your information. Card details never reach our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so please protect the email account and devices you sign in with. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
13. United States only
The Service is offered in the United States, and information is stored and processed in the United States by RackIT and its service providers.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we update the date at the top and email your account's address at least 30 days before the change takes effect; the app then asks you to accept the new version, with a note of what changed. Changes that only help you may take effect when published.
